The Dulwich Estate asked us to restore this sign. Although not the original sign it was thought to be at least 40 years old! However the text and the Dulwich crest were as per the original.
We removed the sign from its posts and took it back to the workshop where we proceeded to strip the sign down.
The process was pretty much the same as for the sign at St Barnabas. However, we took careful drawings of the text and the crest.
Again rotten wood was removed and new wood fitted. Once the sign was repainted, we hand painted the lettering and crest as it was done many years before.
The sign was refitted to the existing posts which were also refurbished.
Another fine restoration, of which we were proud to help.
